Well, if you didn't know already, I do a few events for Living North Magazine.
And they've been giving me lots to do lately, and they might be of some interest to you if you live up our way.
Tuesday 03.10.06 - The Fi-fie-fo-fum Art gallery, near Hexham but nearer Newton, has a new exhibition on which is great, as well as having Sue Moffitt's lovely work up, of which this one took my fancy:

Sue also owns the gallery (set-up in 2003) along with her husband Roy Sturgeon, so go down there and have a look - there website is www.fifiefofum.com or click on the image.

Back to the exhibition, as it was lovely; the two artist of different media (I can't remember their names, but they'll be on there website) had lovely pieces, I'm a fan of anyone that makes something beautiful really, and they have.
To end that, I like going to do the 'Yi's' at Fifie... because it's a great place inside a great area.
Next to do waited til Friday (06.10.06), where I was covering TWO events, one being a Charity Auction for Marie Curie at the enormous and hard to find Slaley Hall (a few wrong turns), and then 'John's' 40th Birthday at the Angel Inn (Corbridge)

(Slaley)
(Angel)
Slaley Hall is a nice place, it was my first time there and even in the dark the grounds were quite impressive, deer and squirrels going about, that kinda thing. You can tell if a place is half posh if it has a signs up for animals on the half mile driveway. I think they have a nice golf course as well, but I wouldn't know, it was dark...
So, rush rush rush, then back to the car, cigarette, then Corbridge. The Angel Inn, if you didn't already know is a pub / restaurant and they have quite a reputation for being good at food. It was quite a good do to finish on, apart from I wish it hadn't been so packed, John must be quite popular!
I got a job at the Queens Head Inn in Great Whittington from it, which I did the photo's for recently. Brendan Healy was there that night, I don't know if it was by chance, but he's a funny guy, obviously. I asked him if I could take a photo, and he said, "Alright, I'll act natural" then starred right at me and pulled a cheek to cheek. I saw him do a little stand up a while ago at the Centre for Life, I recognised his face but I'd never heard any of his jokes kinda thing, I was laughing like a gooden anyway. It's weird, I think, how when someone makes you laugh like that you think you're mates with them or you feel like you've connected with them in some way. I felt like buying him a drink.

He could've said anything to me that night anyway and I would've laughed, purely because he made me laugh before. I think the reason I'm writing all this is because he seems like a nice guy.
The Queens Head by the way is a lovely place, it's been renovated big-style, no expense spared kinda thing and is owned by Ron Jackman. You should check it out anyway. Their website is www.the-queens-head-inn.co.uk, but it's still in the making. If you find out where great whittington is you'll find the pub basically, they do food now as well. I'll have to try it another time though.
Before I did that event, there was something of interest!!!
Ethnic Style Launch at Bang & Olufsen in Newcastle.
It's a company by this guy (Josh), who looks like his name, if ya get me, and it's a great company that I can see going far.

They sell lots of different things, click on the images to check out there site, www.ethnicstyle.com might be useful for alt christmas stuff, think I'm buying a teddy! I got one in the press pack that I gave to wah chick that I wish I'd kept, it was a quirky Zebra, I had it sat on my desk for a night and it made it look 10x better for some reason?
Reminded me of this book I have, called Foxy Dreamy Yes Indeedy:

it's a good book, that I always end up reading in my spare time. Along with The World of Karl Pilkington and In Search Of Lost Time, By Swann's Way (i've just started), which I only started reading after, How Proust Can Change Your Life by Alain De Botton.
There you go then, that's the story.
To round this long post off, I hope you find some of it useful. Tell me if it has.
I do all this to help clients out and me, because it's google-able and it makes my website a bit more useful to the masses I suppose, rather than just photography stuff.
Which it will have more of one day soon.
